We are inspired to help individuals in the community reach their “Peak” by teaching them life skills, such as interviewing and communications in addition to teaching them dental assisting skills.

Our Mission

There are many job opportunities for the qualified dental assistants to assist dentists in the dental profession. There are many people who may wish to be trained in this profession, however, there may be financial or time challenges that prevent them from attending school. It may be difficult for some people to attend school on a full time basis because they are already in the workforce. There are also many expenses that come with getting a new education and this provides anther barrier. We feel that the dental assisting program offered at our school will meet these challenges:

-Evening class schedules are designed to accommodate working students.

-Cost is 60-75% less than 2 year dental assisting programs and local community colleges

-Only 10 weeks, so that you can get in the field fast

Peak Dental Assisting Curriculum is an instructional program, which provides a Ten-Week Dental Assisting Course consisting of 80 hours of lecture and lab and a 20-hour internship with a practicing dentist in a fully operational dental office. The program utilizes a hands-on educational approach where students learn by doing. The course includes lectures on fundamentals of general dentistry and the basic skills, knowledge and technical proficiency necessary to assist the dentist in the various operative procedures performed in a dental clinic.

Peak Dental Assisting is classified as a licensed proprietary school and is a branch of PEAK Practice Coaching and Implementation and is not accredited by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation. Graduated of this program are not eligible for licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant in Michigan. Michigan does allow dental assistants to practice without being a Registered Dental Assistant and are able to perform many, but not all the tasks that a Registered Dental Assistant can perform.

All dental assistants working in the State of Michigan are required by law to have radiography training. Peak Dental Assisting will provide training and administer the radiography examination provided by the Michigan Dental Association for grading, as part of their curriculum. Upon successful completion the Michigan Dental Association will grant a certificate.

The Michigan Dental Association does not include CPR training as one of their requirements for a dental assistant to work in the state of Michigan, however, we feel that having CPR training is a necessary contribution to this profession and include CPR training as a part of our program.
